Marks on mono blocks
« on: September 17, 2014, 09:39:01 pm »
Hoping someone will have advice for me regarding some stains on a monoblock drive.  I do not have any photos I'm afraid but the stains have been caused by a car valeter spraying tyre the shine on the tyres (silicon spray).

The customer has a couple of very nice cars and has them valeted every week they used to get cleaned on the drive! When I originally cleaned the drive a few months ago I could not lift the stains and after a few cleaning methods ended up lifting the stained blocks (4 separate areas were each wheel sits) and replacing them with bricks from a side path which was not as evident.

However the customer called me last week and was furiuos that his nice cleaned drive was marked again just like before! He had explained to the vale ting company that the cars were to be cleaned on street and left to dry before being put on drive, he returned one afternoon to see a young lad the valeting company had sent round spraying the tyres and stuff running off them on each corner!!

I was round the following day and tried to clean the 4 areas with a turbo nozzle and with 100c water but once area dried out no difference! This such is designed to repel water!

Anyone had similar experience and have a solution other than lifting the bricks again! Is there a chemical?

Thanks for now

Without a photos it is difficult? but you could try some of Kevin Martins Sealing & coating remover?
If he reads this post he should be able to clarify.
Hope the valeting company are going to be paying for this though.

Thanks Roger and Chris for your input.  Will call Calder Chemicals tomorrow and let you know how things progress.  Will take some before and after photos also.

I've got one of these jobs where the customer has used a tyre shine on all corners and it has marked the blocks (charcoals).
washed it twice to try and remove the marks but have finally turned the tumble blocks over to resolve situation.
which product is it for this chris please?
looken on site but a bit confused as to which one it is?

We use a water based shine for that reason
