New trolley
« on: October 05, 2014, 04:10:51 pm »
Hi guys,

To cut a long story short, I bought a kiam many moons ago as a first washer, realised it was a load of tosh and instead of buying another machine i have upgraded each component as and when. Only thing original is engine and frame. Although both are being changed in the next few weeks. My washers a bit of a triggers broom!

Im fed up of the wheels on the Kiam (cant even say the brand name without bursting into a fit of rage) and because it has 16mm bores, a replacement is very hard to find. i have gone through about 4 pairs of wheels at £30 a pair in the last 12-18 months.

So frame upgrade is the answer. I have found 2 that I like and if any one has any input on each design then I would love to hear it. I think my mind is made up on which one but sometimes its good to hear other opinions. There is the first frame on there (my favourite although expensive, but like the rubber mounted base plate) and also the 3rd one down which is the cobra/delta style frame.

Edit: reason for continual wheel change is from the constant engine vibrations, wheels just can't hack it.

I prefer the first one, but would it not be cheaper to buy another machine and swap a few bits over then sell the left overs as a complete machine?

There's very little re sale value in a kiam engine and a second hand inter pump!

I have one of the first one sitting in my garage taking up room! I took the washer of it and mounted it in my van. If you want it you can have it for half that price.!

If you look at the picture I have taken the base plate off because it was easier to mount it in van on new frame. You will have to find a replacement base plate. Or get one made. It is in new condition as it was never used. Give me a ring tomorrow.

By base plate I am assuming you mean the sheet metal the engine is bolted to? With the bends on either side to bold to the  rubber mounts
