Orbiter - what pad / brush for domestics?
« on: August 09, 2014, 08:50:04 am »
Picking up my new Oreck Orbiter tomorrow. I'm getting this as I'm finding the duo a bit lightweight for agitation on the dirtier domestics, but I'm not too sure what I should be attaching to it.

Any 'old hands' out there?  :)

Black brush is good for shampoing oriental rugs. Green brush will give you good agitation on wool, red brush on everything else (on wool too), even on hard looped pile.
brushes are not expensive but do not last for long, few busy months and you will need new ones.
Do not store the oreck upright with brush on it as this will flat/damage the brush

I use black brush on everything and it's fine.
As Radek says don't leave it stood up on the brush, I always lay it down if I am in between using it.
Impossible done straight away, miracles can take a little longer.

As others have said, we use the black brush, just remember to make sure you don't leave the brush face down after use. It will become pancake brush... no good for man or beast.

Pads work really well too!

Cheers

On balance, it looks like getting the black brush as the first purchase would be best.

the black one is a standard, the one in the box, is it? ... or you can make a choose when buying?

I don't think they come with a brush. You have to buy them as extras.I would get a Black and an Orange one for the thick tufted often matted PP's that are quite common these days.I find a Black brush useless on these but great on wool.
