Hi guys my tds reading straight out of my merlin 40/40 is reading 0.52 tds!
I'm sure it should be lower than that?

What is your tap water tds? Typically a Merlin will remove 90%.

That's not an horrific tap water TDS your Merlin should be able to knock this down to between 10 and 15 TDS provided you have enough pressure are you using a booster pump ??

Really? On 80psi I only got 280 tds down to 29 with new membranes and filter. My research was that this was about right for a Merlin.

8w - well at 90% 280 should yield a TDS of 28

Using a booster pump
I got my 340 TDS down to 11 with new membranes over a period of 2 years it crept up to 25

With the Merlin it's important to change the little pre filter every 4 to 6 months and if your making more than 50 ltrs per day you need to have 10 or 20 inch pre filters a sediment and carbon block

I have moved recently and am getting through resin at a ridiculous rate now as I am on much lower pressure. Which of those pumps did you go for? Was going to buy this one:

I'd have to check but sure it was the 82m second on menu £139.00

Been going 4 years, been frozen in the shed, run dry for six hours when the hose blew off, and run with boiling water when I forgot to set timer and tank solenoid shut off flow so pump ran with same water inside it for 3 hrs !!!

Btw you can buy these with a pressure switch to avoid all of the above problems 😄
