Magnetic Signs
« on: April 03, 2006, 05:35:34 pm »
Hi all,

I didnt want to get the car sign written - so i bought a pair of sign magnets. These only cost £26 inc p&p and the artwork (which i will admit is 'out there' - but i like it :).)

Heres a few pics, if anyone wants some ive got the ladies email / tel number.

Personally i think there a good idea and my father in law wants a bigger set for his van that Tess says she can do for about twice my car price!

If you're 'car proud' be carefull.

Mine marked the paintwork.  I stuck them onto a wet car and left them on.  Over time it faded the paintwork.

It didn't bother me; I'm not car proud; but if you were, then you might get upset.

Im very car proud - but the car im proud of i dont use for window cleaning!

The Green Mondeo in the pic was bought off ebay for £385 with a years MOT on it, trusty old faithful as i call her will be in service for 9 months then sold, then the next motor if you see what i mean!

Hence the magnets been a good idea!

Most people call me DUCK, small world!

Mine actually came from living in Chesterfield in Derbyshire, where everyone says 'a up duck' instead of 'how are you?'.

So when i moved down south everyone thought i was weird and hence i got the name duck, so i called my company blue duck!

Glad you like the signs by the way!

guys thinking of going down the vehicle wrapping route as it is a great way to advertisie

anybody done it yet = how much does it cost I was catering for about £1500

but over 5 years this only works out at 300 a year

what is vehicle wrapping it is when they wrap your whole vehicle and turn it into one big graphic advertisement -- they look great

any advice would help

i use magnetic signs aswell

i got mine on ebay for about 30 quid delivered

i used to work for a local council as a carpenter and they sometimes used them, 1 of the sign writers used to lightly oil (just run a slightly oiled rag on the back of them) the backs of them, it stops the friction and that causes the paint to "fade"
