« on: June 20, 2014, 09:54:57 pm »
Got asked by one of my older regulars today if i could do some jetwashing, small concrete area at the bottom of some steps pretty green hasnt been cleaned in years took a look and said id do it for £45 as hes a regular. Well his chin hit the floor HOW MUCH! I could buy a pressure washer for £100! Forget it ilget a brush and scrub it myself!  I just burst out laughing. So just wondering what sort of minimum charge does everyone have?? As mines normally £50

My minimum is £40 as its just not worth the hassle for any less but if its a 5 minute job i  normally find something else to clean or do for them to make it up to an hour so everyone's happy.

£120

Considering no pressure washing job is ever under 2 hours no matter how small,

if I have to hook up the bowser and get dirt it's always 2 hours of the day used up even if the job takes half an hour

Im with Mike, I have been caught out by pricing to what I think a customer would pay as opposed to time taken on small jobs.

If you are a barrow set up then it takes about 20 mins to unload gear, fill tank, warm engine, put on waterproofs etc and about 20 mins to disconnect, break down gear, coil hose and reload. So that's 40 minutes before you even clean your first square metre.

Cheap usually means inferior. If customers want cheap then let them have the gypo's. If they want a quality job doing then they have to pay the price. Don't belittle yourself by charging cheap silly prices. That's the reason why so many people go bust cos they don't make any money yet they are busy.

I did a small piece of concrete today for £50 i thought id be in and out in just over an hour, took me 2H 15Mins.

Anyway there was a bloke fitting virgin media in the house he comes out back and tells me he used to do this in Grimsby, he said he ran a night club and did this as well for holiday money (everyone you talk to has done this job ;D) he starts asking me loads of questions, so i asked how much he used to charge and he said £2.25 m2 for BP and £1.25 m2 for concrete  :o it did make me question my prices.

I can usually do a small job in an hour to hour and half with unload/loading
