I'm running a couple of small non descript (read cheap chinese import) petrol pressure washers. I only run one, as one is a backup. I use them for vehicle cleaning (have a contract to wash some trucks). One has the standard crappy type pressure hose (which has just burst) and the other has an expensive rubber/reinforced jobbby from Pirtex. I think the pirtex one cost about £50?
 I'm looking to buy a replacement hose, and i also want to extend from my current 10 metres to 20 metres. Does this hose look any good ?

Also, here are my two lances, am i correct in assuming the bottom one is a Karcher/M22 fitting?
 


If so, any ideas (or a link) to what i need to buy to be able to attach the bottom hose to the top lance?

Just take your hose and lance to your local hydraulic shop and get some quick release connectors. If connectors won't fit on directly they will have the relevant adapters to make it work.

Yes the bottom one is a karcher 22mm fitting, i've just brought the 30 metre hose from them looks good but haven't tried it out yet.

Oh well, bit the bullet and bought 20 metres myself, with Karcher ends. It comes on Thursday and i'll be using it Sunday.
 I went to Pirtek, that was a laugh. The original.."yeah, don;t buy it off the internet, we'll beat the price" turned out to..
 they could supply 20metres of the cheap crap for 50 for 20 metres, the wired stuff like i just bought was double the price.
 The lad who tried to adapt my lance above to fir a Karcher fitting gave me about ten nuts and bolts fitted together (about 10 inches long), i took off either end and it was the same result, only about 8 inches shorter!! It never fit in anycase. The karcher fitting was fine, what i (and he) suspected was a 3/8 BSP fitting never fitted into the thing he had (i reckon its because there was a great big nipple inside it) he reckoned i had a metric l/m or n 8 fitting. So wasted my time at Pirtek, ordered the hose on ebay and ordered a 3/8 to karcher adapter.
   Lets see if i'm ready to go on Friday with it all !!

Sorry , just to add to this......my mate had all his changed to quick release. And between them siezing up, seals going they where a royal pain. He's transferred to Karcher fittings now. I think Lee Kenny done them all for him

Sorry , just to add to this......my mate had all his changed to quick release. And between them siezing up, seals going they where a royal pain. He's transferred to Karcher fittings now. I think Lee Kenny done them all for him

He was doing something wrong then because I have them on every hose. They do catch and they do snag, they will come apart but you get used to not leaving the connections over traffic lanes, checking they are connected properly and in good order.

If they are sticking together then they need WD40.

Like all things there will be good ones and crap ones. I suspect that they were not of the best quality or that just wouldn't happen.

They wear but not quickly and are far superior to the Karcher fittings.

I still have some 20mm QR's that have been in use 11 years now - plenty of o rings. Just like triggers broom

Yeah i fully accept that. He's not the best guy at looking after his gear and he may well of had crap stuff.
