Rug Guru Help!
« on: May 03, 2014, 11:34:49 am »
Hi Guys
Got a good one for you! Customer asked me if i can do anything with their rug. Fake tan I'm afraid. Know the answer is probably bad news but just wondered if anyone has had any success with this stuff. Tried Red RX, stain pro but no transfer. Any ideas?
Thanks
Tim

The expert thinking on using bleaches to remove stains is That you use reducers like stain magic on natural  stains ( things you might eat or drink)  man made stains like furniture dye or fake tan respond better to oxidisers.

I would use a peroxide & ammonia solution applied with a cotton bud then   Excelerated   with a hot iron over a damp cloth.

To test it just dab the cotton bud onto a single fibre and test the full process.

If you have some chemspec dyegone and don't feel confident spraying the solution onto the stain then spray it into a bottle cap and use it with the cotton bud, it's much easier  to control the amount you are applying this way.

Have your extractor ready to rinse if you have a problem

Thanks guys for the response. Mike, where is the best place you've found to get the products you suggest? Would it be as simple as somewhere like a hairdressing supplier, or this a different type of concentration?
Thanks
