D.Salkeld ltd - First day - WFP!!
« on: March 28, 2006, 11:11:09 pm »
Hi all,

Thanks for your encouragement.
Went out today with 300ltr pure water at 11.00am.
First job - Battery fel of the trolley!!!!!  Mind you Heath Robinson here did attatch the securing strap with Roof tacks!!!
Then I just about hang my brush in a washing line!!!
Then nearly hang myself in the hose!!!!
First job a £7 three bed terrace with a bay and kitchen/ bathroom extended at back I used 30Lts water andtook my 3/4 hr to do !!
I nearly thruogh the whole lot in the skip!!!
Then I thought hang on this has cost me £800 and ther's the pride in proving this works!!  So I press on.

By the end of the day I got the hang of winding the hose around the trolley handle (figure 8 fashion) and got the feel of the flow control valve on my pole.

The last job was a £15 4 bed detatched UPVC frames took me 1/2 hr and only used 25ltrs.

I remembered a chap on here two or three years ago called Justin Riggles.  He posted a technique for washing the windows:-
scrub the top frame and glass first then do the side frames and glass edges then brush the middle of the window and finally rince top to bottom.

At the end of the day I did 10 jobs about £100 from 11.00am to 17.45 with 3/4hr break.
Only had one retired couple ask if I was going to wipe the water of.  when I explained they were happy to trust my judgment (where my experience comes in handy)
I know there is work ahead and I don't want to rush things.

I'm am delighted!!!!

Sort out the teething troubles tommorow night and a few addition at the weekend by next week things should be running OK.

If it's any consolation i've been wfp for about 7 months now & still get wrapped up in my hose when i step back ::)

End of the day you will get quicker and more confident.

A job that used to take me 3 hours from a ladder only takes me just over an hour now ;D

I admit i am not quick working from a ladder but i used to wipe the frames back then aswell.

Keep at it mate
