Number plate hose guide
« on: April 15, 2014, 09:38:47 pm »
Hi everyone.

A friend of mine saw a number plate hose guides advertised somewhere sometime ago, he can't remember where.

Apparently you make a hole in your rear door/tailgate behind your number plate and fit the hose guide to your rear door, with the number plate being modified so it folds down or is made magnetic with the same material that is used on magnetic removable sign writing.

Then you just pass your house through your rear door, pull it out in any direction and you can work safe in the knowledge that your gear is safe and locked away.

Can anyone supply a link to this product or a small square steel hose guide that would do the job?

Thanks, Dave

I think if you're gonna do that you might be better off drilling through the floor.

Can't see plod being pleased with the number plate idea either...

Pole king, if I go though the floor won't the hose foul on my rear bumper?
I think if the number plate was secure whist driving it would be ok?

Pure H20 Services, thanks, he thought he'd seen it on eBay so that checks out.

Yeah, but only where you wouldn't see it wouldn't it?
If you were worried about that bit you could always put a bit of metal or even old hose split lengthwise to protect the bumper...

No it wouldn't .

A small square roller guide in the floor then a fair lead roller guide on a bracket projecting below the bumper .

I am interested in doing this kind of thing on the rear bumper of a transit custom
any of you Transit custom owners with a heads up on whether there is a good spot for fitting a roller guide,  either attaching to the bumper or as has been suggested a bracket fitted to something more robust?
