i bought 2 of the ones in the link above, the prongs were slightly bigger but managed to bend the connectors to fit them.
the pump works but it is stuttering,it will pump for a second then off and so on and the water is coming out of the pole hose slow.

Try testing the pump without the pressure switch this will tell you if it is the switch or the pump.
Disconnect the red wire that come from the bottom of the pump to the pressure switch and connect it
directly to the live feed.

Excuse my stupidity.
I havs that pump also do they not come with a pressure switch ready?
What is the job of the pressure switch?
To sense pressure change and turn water on and off.
I have a varistream controller connected to my pump but since buying a new battery have had to recalibrate varistream a couple of times now.

I bypassed the pressure switch and it worked fine so the switch in the link must be the wrong one.iv orders one of pure freedom but it would be handy if someone could show me a cheap alternative

Just out of interest do the people who say they have used these cheaper versions wih success also use a controller?I don't use a controller and I wondered if these switches aren't designed to have the flow on full whack

I have been using these switches
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MPN-CSM30500D-Microswitch-V3-Button-CAMDENBOSS-Pack-of-1-/261357503259?pt=UK_BOI_Electrical_Components_Supplies_ET&hash=item3cda1f031b
I dont use a controller I have a tap on the pole to control the flow.
No problems

Yes, that's the one. I put one of these in a month-or-so ago and it works no problems. You don't need to snap the extra prong off; it fits just fine the way it is.
