What's the going rate for renting work? What percentage do you pay or keep?

You keep 25% they get the rest.

Mayb a third at most.

Any more and you run the risk they will try to steal all your customers for the 100% cash.

A couple of things aren't clear:
Is the OP renting the work from someone or to someone?
Is the one doing the work supplying own vehicle/tools/water etc.?
What other things are likely to be agreed to (this could affect the value of the work)?

Id always thought that the one renting the work would use thier own tools and van. Poses a bit of confusion though if they are signwritten with their own tading details, so id stipulate that the van has to be not signwritten.

Secondly, renting the round means just that they are commission operators in reality. So get them to invoice you for their commission and not the other way round.
