Blazer HELP!
« on: March 26, 2014, 04:02:14 pm »
Hi Guys

As some of you may remember I'm a bit useless at the technical stuff! But here is my problem.

Demand pump stopped working, so checked the water pressure switch and noticed that where the two live wires are connected it is corroded, so I disconnected the two wires and connected them to the other two connections, which look like spares ?

The pump is working, and the switch switches off as it is supposed too, but I just wanted to make sure by moving over the two wire connections, it is safe!

I hope this makes sense, if not I would appreciated it if someone could spare a 5 min phone call

07592898 298

Cheers!

Justin

Max as far as i know its ok,you are just by passing the switch, only thing that might happen is the pump could get hotter as its always pumping and maybe overflow your heather tank if say you chatting to custy.

I'm not by passing the switch.

The switch has two red wires going into it, but it has four terminals.
I have just moved the two wires over to the other two terminals. It still cuts off when header tank is full

Its not the pump, its the pressure switch above the pump.
I was halfway through a very busy day, PROCHEM don't have any in stock until next week
I have ordered a new switch, but am stacked out with work, need to keep working

What difference does it make ?, buy a new pump then fix your old one & keep it as a spare.
Its a tiny price to pay for something that make thousands a week surely.

There is nothing wrong with the pump!

Its the pressure switch......I have ordered a new one, but just want to keep working whilst waiting for delivery

I think Im probably not explaining it right, but it seems ok anyway

Cheers

Despite having the accumulator thingy I seemed to burn out the pressure switch on the pumps on a regular basis. So I converted it to run on a bilge pump float switch in the header tank and never had a problem since. The pressure switches are £25 a pop and the float switch under a tenner.
It's not expensive, you just can't afford it.
