Dry solvent cleaner and protector
« on: March 18, 2014, 04:48:22 pm »
I have a big-ish job to do next week. Most of the furniture and all curtains will have to be dry cleaned. What is your preferred dry solvent cleaner and protector and why? I have so far used with success Ashby's dry clean extra and stainguard solvent protector, just wondering what others using.
Also is there a product that wouldn't leave the usual dry solvent smell?

Cheers
Emil

Just thinking about the dry solvent smell, a local franchise near me apparently
left a solvent smell for nearly 4 days in a property when they dry cleaned some upholstery. That has to be wrong ??

When we used to dry clean upholstery in the workshop we would leave it 3 days after the clean before returning it to the customer.

Most products are OMS - Odorless Mineral Solvent so should have too agressive a smell to them.

Possibly they didnt exhaust the fumes out of the property.

I use Prochem Dri Pro or Chemspec Dry Cleaning Concentrate. If protecting its Chemspec All Fabric Stainshield.
