Not happy this morning. The council have a building on the land behind my house and have taken on loads of workers,  these workers have taken to parking up my road, including constantly at the front of my house.
The two worst offenders of it, I put a polite note on their windscreens asking if they would please refrain from parking right outside my place as I need to fill up through the day.
Went out this morning to fill up and had a flat front tyre with a nail sticking out of it, obviously unable to repair it, so £50 down from Kwik fit before I even start. No proof though!

Cone it off when you go out, it's not illegal to park outside someone's house but you can't block access to there drive ect, go see this site manager with the tyre bill say the lads threw a box of nails in the gutter outside my house I would like a refund on my costs and for them not to park outside my house.

Other than that, you will have to turn gangster on them

How would you feel if one of your customer's neighbours told you not to park outside their house? You might think "I pay road tax, I can park where I like". I used to have the same problem and there is only one solution. Move to a house with a drive.

They have to build with ample parking for staff. Not off site.  Contact the council

It is illegal to cone off a road without permission though.

i stand corrected ....but its an offence to block you in your drive...........but not to block you out, ie to gain access ( private residence)

You think someone who parks their car outside your house all day is going to put a nail in your tyre ? Really ?

i stand corrected ....but its an offence to block you in your drive...........but not to block you out, ie to gain access ( private residence)

you cant park anywhere were there is a drop kerb,so if your drive is done right it cant be blocked

If someone put a nail through my tyre I'd be investing in a CCTV unit then re-posting the note on their windscreen. If I was fortunate enough to catch them in the act of repeating the offence I'd be wanting to return the favour. Whether I did or not would remain to be seen, however theres no doubt they'd be approached with the intention of paying for the damage they'd caused and to be sure they knew I'd kept the evidence and should they repeat their parking 'violation' that they'd realised the error of their ways. 

Other than that, not a lot you can do unless you wanted to torch their vehicle and live with the consequences, which might seem like fun but in reality isn't likely to be.

He aint got a driveway so their is nothing he can do apart from move ,  Nothing like having your own driveway/parking that you legally own .

The very reason we moved from our last house was the neighbours were a PIA with their cars along with other people .

Okay let's think this through Mark.

Where in your tyre was the nail? Tread or side wall. If tread - well it might be coincidence. Was the head of the nail worn like you had been driving on it for some distance? If side wall then possibly criminal damage but as you say - no proof.

I have lived in houses where people jostle for parking at certain times of the day and I have tended to just park further away and put up with it - life's too short etc. Unless one of your family is genuinely elderly or disabled I'd live and let live.

Filling up - is it really necessary for you to come back in the day? Get a bigger tank or just come back double park and extend your hose and just have the nerve to tell blocked motorists they'll need to wait a few minutes as you couldn't get to the kerb.

The cone idea isn't a bad one. The worst that can happen is someone moves/nicks the cones.

Cheers for some ideas, to be honest, I was venting when I wrote that.
The missus doesn't want me to turn gangsta on them by plotting a revenge, because as she rightly points out, they know where I live and I don't know where they live!
So I'll just take it on the chin this time.....CCTV next time
