Footprints!!
« on: February 25, 2014, 07:44:13 pm »
Hi,
Had a call back today where the customer complained that after the carpet clean, she
could see her footprints on the carpet and was not happy .
This is a first for me in 6years of trading.
Anybody had this type of thing, I've returned to a couple of jobs in the past where I've removed the odd wand mark where I had not groomed properly, but this was a first.
Any pearls of wisdom if this happens again !!

Ben.

Had the foot prints set in to the carpet once dry? that's a strange one, she must be a right heavy bugger. Suppose wand marks can set in so why not footprints.

Did you tell her to vacuum the carpet with an upright once dry?

derek west

Tell her if they have not come out after 2 or 3 vacs, you will come and remove them for free.

"she must of been a right heavy bugger" love it.  ;D

the feet indentations happen as you walk on the dry carpet, like they would if the carpet was new.
Not seen it so prominent before, just told her that the pile had been rejuvenated and this was normal and would flatten out with normal traffic
wear! I've offered to re groom but she says she will see what it looks like in a couple of weeks.
The carpet is a brown, medium pile 80/20.
Must be the damp weather  :D

I can't stand wand marks being left in newly cleaned carpet and always brush them out so the carpet looks its best. I wouldn't blame a customer for complaining about them, but footprints after you've left, that is a strange one but then you are dealing with Jo public so you come to expect anything ;D

I once had a call back quite a few years ago, but remember it well ! The customer rang to say I had made a great job of cleaning her carpet but left this grey area under the radiater ?  I imediately thought I had left a draught mark but on returning to look at the carpet it was a f☆☆☆ing shadow ! Silly Cow

One of my customers has a carpet that shows every foot print when dry and ripples as soon as you clean it
