Equipment query
« on: February 10, 2014, 04:03:54 pm »
Have seen  on various suppliers sites the like of Prochems Polaris and Fivestar carpet cleaning machines.  Seems to be a push along, walk behind HWE.  Quick look at the specs suggests they are underpowered for
professional use.  1 x 2 stage vac and 50psi for the Fivestar.

So are they in the same bracket as the rug doctor etc etc.

I've just never seen a pro cleaner comment on them. Good or bad.

Wondered if anybody has any thoughts on them.  No intention of getting one. Just curious.

Cheers.

Yes , Giant rug doctors .

There is nothing intrinsically wrong with the RD design , its just as a whole a bit Micky mouse for Pro CC  .
The Prochems are aimed at maintenance cleaning more so and the design can limit the results you can achieve  , they dont need lots of vac power because there is no hose run to deplete airflow or vacuum and the powerbrush design does not need lots of psi to be effective .
The steamin demon is rated by Pro CC although it also has just one low power vac close to the cleaning head . It relies on high flow from a tap  instead of a powerbrush . Its suppose to be a Pain to setup and use though in general .

Thanks for your input John.
Confirms my thoughts that they are perhaps best suited to facilities management types and maintenance rather than specific carpet cleaning professional use for all occasions.
