Dear colleagues

I'm using an Extracta wand (top-end version, with glass window).  However it's more than  a bit on the heavy side!  I reckon I've got two options:  1.  a power brush;  2.  a lighter, but just as effective wand.  Any suggestions ?

I have not got a clue what an Extracta wand is but if it is a scrub wand then put glides on it, they do make quite a difference, best, Dave.

Ive  always liked a light wand and i found one at solution,s and with the glides on i can fly through the job. I think they are called dura kleen Get nick to send you one on lone des

I use the extrcta wand in find it ok you will find a power brush a lot heavier. If you want to get rid of your extracta wand let me know.

I'm afraid you will get light weight results, with a light weight wand, I bought the one you mention and it's not just light in weight, but light in construction and does not shut off when it should.........this nearly caused me a few problems when I discovered it sprayed on starting the pump.

Stopped using it very quickly as I want to be in control of my equipment at all times.

Rob which wand did you use that dripped  as the cfr wand does look a nice bit of kit  .Boshravie how much is this wand and are you saying that you have to clean at 400psi while you are using it des

Thanks for the info re psi on the wonder wand will now take it out of my shopping basket as I only use 200/250 psi

Steve, where did you get the glides fitted for the Extracta Wand (and how much)
I also have this wand but I hate it, (too cumbersome) been in the shed for about 4 years, however with glides I am sure it would make a big difference.

i got them from kleenpro, america through ebay and worked a treat!
I hated the extracta wand a first as it seems to feel a bit awkward but now i think it's brilliant, you can actually see the dirt you're cleaning away. the brush scrubs and lifts the pile, and as it's closed in no overspray, and with the glides it's so much easier to use,  i think it's just a case of trying it for a good while and getting used to it.
As for kleenpro, i think they're great, excellent customer service and the shipping's not too bad and often times iv'e had things delivered quicker from the states than from the UK,  What's that all about

The CFR products are excellent and very well made.............I was referring to the cheap , lightweight wand which, although inexpensive, is very poor quality.

Dear Friends

Sorry for the late return to my posting but I've had a frustrating week !  Thanks for the many returns on this, the weight issue might even be an advantage for maintaining positive contact with the carpet after all !  Gort - I probably don't want to sell at the moment, but I'll let you know if things change.

Again, many thanks for the replies - it's great to know that we're not alone in this business !!
