What battery charger?
« on: January 16, 2014, 12:04:34 pm »
I need to charge my leisure battery.

It's 90amp.

I've been told to put 15amps into it for a few hours, then down to 10 amps etc.

Trouble is my current (funny, eh?) charger has no way to vary the input.

Can anyone recommend a suitable charger, please?

I'm not a bright spark when it comes to lectrickery.

Ta.

Fit a smart relay first then worry about a charger if you need one.I fitted one 2 years go and have never used a smart charger since.

What's a 'smart relay' when it's at home?

Do you mean a split charge relay?  If so, I have that.  Auto elec found that the earth wire had come loose, so the battery appears to have not been charging.

I have run the van for a few days no, and whilst the battery seemed better, it wasn't long before it made the pump intermittent.  Hence the need to charge the leisure battery.

Just driving around doesn't seem to be helping.
