Modacrylic / cotton suite
« on: March 18, 2006, 11:35:59 am »
This morning I have visited a customer to do an upholstery cleaning survey. The composition of fibres was 51% cotton 48% modacrylic and 1% other. I would describe the fabric as possibly woven boucle. The filling of the cushions is ducks feather and the covers are light beige.
Anybody who has cleaned these type suites in the past, how did you do the clean ?

Steve,

You should be able to clean this fairly easily subject to the usual testing.

Do not use the water too hot but either detergent or MS phosphates will work O.K

Cheers

i did one of that type a few days ago, and after a good vac, i inserted a polythene sleeve beetween the fabric and the lose cover, cleaned very well with M/s and was very quick to dry
