Hi Jim, yes you're right that's what I use. I only use cold water, not hot.
I like it because:
It's extremely light and easy to use.
I still get good water pressure at the brush.
It's durable (never had a leak or split in 18 months) and I can stand 50 feet away and easily pull more off the reel (fixed in the van).
I can lift the whole reel out on frosty evenings and it's so light.
I can shut the van doors on the hose (and lock them) without affecting the flow rate.
I can put my warning cones actually on the hose to hold it down (on the pavement).
Because it's light and easy to pull round houses, it's quick to use and that's what I like.
It's not so good because:
It does not lay flat (and yes it does coil) but that in itself is not a problem.
Occasionally it can tangle, probably not much more than microbore (but it's easy and light to untangle, i've got the hang of what to do)
It loves car tyres (but so does microbore).
There is a limit to the water pressure you can get. I like a fast flow but not massive. With all my gardiners brushes it creates a nice curtain of water with not too much additional rinsing to do. However, I have just bought a wide extreme brush and fitted 4 fan jets to it (I had to) and although the pressure has dropped, I think there's enough water to rinse effectively.
If you're not sure, just get 30m of Aquadapter red and add it to your existing hose. Cheap enough and you may just like it.
Cheers
Pete
