I've used an electric heater from Argos for the last 7 years - it only cost £24.99 back then and is still going. All you need to do is keep the inside of the van above freezing?

It's for users who don't have access to electric.

I think the van would melt though with this beast :D

Thought space heaters still needed 240v to run the fan?  ??? ???
Bit pointless if it does.

Not all if them.
My dad is a plasterer.
He used ones that were gas only on sites with no 240v

Never seen one of those.
Every one I have looked at all need an electric feed for the fan.
Would not fancy running that with all the doors closed in the morning, will make the van stink.
Just my opinion though.

I don't think it'd actually work in reality.
There's no 'warm' setting. It's either blowing fiercely or...off.

And it wouldn't stay lit for long as the oxygen would get burned off.
Vans ain't airtight but tight enough not to let enough O2 in/CO2 out.

LPG?

It'll produce just as much condensation in the back of the vehicle as fuel it burns. If you used 5 litres of fuel it'll deposit 5 litres of water in your van every night too.

At 10kw it would take the paint off the inside of the van.
Not one of your better suggestions Dazmond. ;D

This would be fine for a quick 20-30
Minute blast on a morning for hoses to soften, no use overnight.
If i had no electric overnight i would be tempted to hire a garage there only about £15.00-25.00 a week aint they? For most or you that would be cost effective

The condensation is bad enough in my van this time of year, if i had any more on the roof inside i would  go crazy,it drives me mad  >:(
