Can someone plzzzzZ talk me thru what you need with this
I'm thinking like this & correct me if I'm wrong ?
Water mains to booster pump to sediment filter to carbon filter, into 4040 membrane then into DI bottle then into static tank producing pure water alot faster Thant 450gpd with booster.

Is this correct or have I got it wrong as thinking going 4040 after Christmas as fed up with the tank refilling for 3 days !!!

Im in the same boat danny..
There are so many different types of 4040 and different equipment i have found its hard to know what is and what works best.

Danny, mine is set up exactly how you have described! Perfect matey. I have a booster/pond pump been using it for over 2 years now. Fills 1000 ibc in 4 hours. Hope this helps

You wont go far wrong buying one of these kits.. everything you need just connect it all together with there instructions.

those kits look pretty good value to be honest , i wouldn't use the hose lock connectors though just plumb it all in with john guest fittings a nd tube.

My fibredyne filter RO kit came with 1/2" JG pipe and fittings included.

rob they do actually come with all john guest fittings the only thing that is hozelock is the pure water pipe to tank! very easy to use john guest on that though if preferred.

Also speak to june from gaps danny... she knows her stuff she will recommend whats best for you

they come with john guest but by the looks of the picture it terminates in hozelock for the input/pure and waste , which tend to leak unless you use the stainless steel ones from gardener.

I think it would be better to use john guest throughout if your set up permits.

Thank you all for your help of info. Mick you go for the 4040 off Crystal I'm gonna sort mine out after Crimbo but much appreciated not to just go in and buy off Crystal. Andy ill prob spend around &500 - £600 that will be the 4040 mbrane and casing also a decent pump

Kent have you got a cut out for your booster or do you just know when to turn pump off and thanks for info that would be so cool only 4 hours to fill pews off this taking days m8

Personally I would put the booster pump after the prefilters and before the r/o. My reasoning is 'why pressurise something you don't need to.'

I just time it, has an overflow if  the wife or I are late at turning it off but have plans to Automate it in the new year!

As you may already be aware Spruce, these booster pumps thrive on a good flow of water; something that the pre filters may reduce.

Spruce I've thought it better to put pp before the filters as the after flow of water prolongs the life mind you there not to expensive to replace every couple of months to prolong the membrane.

Kent have you not thought about putting one of those toilet valves on your tank that would stop the water, mind you the pump would still be working but they work running dry I assume.

These 4040 membranes is it about a five year change on them ?
