Lets all bcome canvassers Gold rush 1800s who won?
« on: November 13, 2013, 11:58:03 pm »
It just Occurred to me during the great gold rush in America guess who made the most money the diggers ??  No Not at all ... it was the people who provided the tools
Diggers had to strike it lucky or work extreamly hard while tool producers were racking up payments regardless if diggers found gold

Maybe we should all become canvassers provide the tools or customers, tools were expensive but then so are customers diggers worked very hard first cleans and appointments are Too, you also need a bit of luck with leads and customers if cleaner has a bad run the best part is it doesn't matter millions of people were digging for gold and millions of window cleaners are looking for customers ;))
Id say our canvassers Are very very clever indeed!

I would rather canvass for my own work rather than building someone else's business up for them!

That's the mind set but. It's not so clear cut andy!
Gold diggers had to constantly replace tools they break window cleaners also have to replace messers and cancelations ;)
Gold diggers might end up
Digging for decades on seach of those perfect golden rocks
Window cleaners could too for those perfect regular jobs
I see similarities!
Tool providers needn't not worry if somewhere down the line
A gold diggers gold buyer ripped them Off

canvassers same 3,4 cleans in a customer refuses to pay they are out!
The circle is similar!

Ultimately the cleaner wins as they are building their pension pots where as canvassers only live for now

mmmmm yes and no!
Depends on how fast you can be in and out!
If you were making 2-3 tools a month in the 1800s you might have been better off digging if you are canvassing small amounts a day you maybe better off cleaning

Now if you were able to produce tools with high volume and mass distribute them
To over mine the states or if you are able to hit or call an area on a large scale
The tool providers/canvassers will win!
Can't stay up long this digger needs to get up at 6.30 am ;))
Tool providers don't need too !

Actually the biggest winners of the gold rush was prostitutes (well the owners of such establishments)

I don't see a tool supplier and canvasser as a similarity tbh

Maybe a geologist who could point out where gold maybe found...
And at best got a well paid steady income miners who had the ability to 'sense' where gold was buried and then did it themselves became the richest of the miners

I think it's all about how good you are at your job, I'm a rubbish canvasser, wouldn't make much if I did it as a job, but I think if your good there's a hell of a lot of money to be made, I'll just stick to cleaning, that's where I'm comfortable

As said build yourself up instead of others...why use your own bricks to build another mans house!.
The likes of mark(whizz bizz) who is a near great canvasser(im greater :-*)
Prob gains £100-£200 of new work each day which he is doing for other cleaners as he has seen an opening in the market where there is such a lack of respectable and honest roundbuilders out there which is all well and good for short term imo..at a minimum he will be gaining £500 a week of new work prob closer to £1000 though so take the median £750 a week or £3000 a month 36k a year that he is building for his potential competition...all well and good as he will earn himself nearer £6000 a month £72k a year from his x2 or whatever it is he charges(not enough)however if he built for himself for 3/5 years he would have a £120k-150k business which would be there each and every year whilst he continues to run a wc business. Repeat work and repeat money(brilliant money)..
Window cleaners who dont feel man enough or who are to busy to knock on doors to build there business up dont realy realise how lucky they are that canvassers are out there to build there rounds up for them for a simple x2 value. Whizz literally travels the whole of the uk building other peoples rounds up for them without being at home with his family etc...gotta respect the man for his hard work even though one day he will see the light and build up his own empire.

Sorry if makes no sence im on the jd n coke tonight.  ;D

Some cleaners are more like the mine owners sending the canvassers down to the pits, looking for those lovely nuggets.
