Anyone used the new velo fans from drieaz or there other smaller down draught type.  How do they compare with the sahara dryers.

Use saharas but their big, heavy, hard to store and I'm sure there not all that efficient at drying cleaned carpets fast.

So I'm looking for something better.

The downside is probably low power when needed ..
Its says its 185w  ...  compared to a 1.5HP full size from Ashbys for example is 1100w .

The ashbys ones are the heaviest and dry the carpet fastest of all but they don't last long not very well manufactured, the dri pods are more direct blowing onto the carpet not sure about about the velo I not sure if they are man enough to make a difference if they are only slight may as well not bother, I've got that many fans I'm not bothering as yet ill wait for a review.

Have to say the Velo does look pretty good! Spec and Test on DriEaz site claims them to be quicker at drying than a Sahara....

Got some in stock and I would say power is between Dripod and Sahara. Think what they are trying to do is to make them do the same job but actually look a bit better but more importantly make them easier to handle and store. Snail blowers are a pig to store and take up a lot of room in your van. The Velo also works with the floor channels.

Managed to grab a couple as I think their initial stock is nearly sold out. Another container load on its way. Flood guys love these as you can grt 3 times as many in your van compared to snails. This is a massive saving on time and miles if you are working at distance.

Don't they charge per fan on the job? If it dries half as fast then in theory they need twice as many kerching!! Perhaps its my dubious nature that thought of that

An airmovers an airmover you get the same amount regardless. Its the dehumidifiers that dry buildings the airmovers just move the damp air around. Airmovers DRY carpets and floors.

No, they don't have variable speed Nick.  The Pro versions are not being imported for the UK market.  The model that is being imported into the UK is a hybrid.  It is single speed but also has the hour meter of the Pro model.  The Pro model in the US differs in that you can lower the speed to reduce the ampage so you can get more blowers on their electrical circuits which are half the power of the UK.  This isn't required on our 240v.  The whole concept of this machine is reduced power usage to comply with carbon reduction targets and also ease of storing, stacking etc in both vehicles and premises.  Price is £185 + VAT.

I have had one for two weeks, it's lighter and easier to move than the snail dryers, has a side handle made of rubber so easy to move around great so far
