Just got a call from a foreign chap who is moving out of his rental so needs a clean.He says there is some markings left on the white carpet by a red rug which was on it so my question is guys/gals has anyone got any suggestions for removal.All input appreciated as always.Regards Alan

Sounds like dye crocking unless he's spilled water on it and its run through but the item I would use would be dye gone from Chemspec.

Thanks for that Shaun i have some so will try when i go to quote as he sounds like he might be a bit reluctant to pay alot extra(cost of dye gone aint cheap)to remove this.Regards Alan

then let him lose his deposit, Alan your saving him money if you remove it so make him pay for it.

Hi Alan

The chances of you removing all the dye depend on whether it is water soluble, it will either come off really easily(unlikely) or be permanent.

I would certainly not waste any expensive product on it.

You may laugh... but in the past when all else has failed i have reached for MPower and it has worked well on dyes transferred from throws on light coloured fabric sofas

Mix a fresh solution of Chemspecs spray & go apply and rinse.

Light mist of Solutions Magic would lift red dye, apply hot or use a steamer

Thanks for all the replies guys it turned out Abdul didnt want to pay the £130 i quoted him as he had 2 other quotes of which one was £90 so i left him to it(he tried to get me to do the job for £100 but i turned him down as there were other little jollies like vomit etc to attend to as well as the carpets in a 2 bed house with carpettted bathroom)Did he really think i was going to beat £90 all in(plonka).Regards Alan
