Staff question
« on: September 28, 2013, 06:26:14 pm »
A question for those that employ.
With my main round almost full I am contemplating getting another van, canvassing a round up and getting someone to do the work.
Just wondering if you guys that employ have any trouble with your workers learning the job, learning what tools they need and what to charge etc. and then quitting and setting up their own round.
I'm worried that I will be basically training up my future competition.
Am I just being paranoid or is this something that does happen quite alot, It's just that they will see how much the van turns over in a day and think, sod earning £10 an hour I want what the guvnors earning.

im still with 1 van but with myself and 3 workers in it ,so iv still got control ,       the other year i got a 2nd van and had a worker driving it
only a couple of weeks in he crashed it but was ragging it before that -the crash did me a favour as later i discovered he was creamin off cash jobs for himself .

if i ever get a second van again i will have a person of retired age driving it who will not  clean, just drive workers about and perhaps door knock a bit

also it helps to employ as cleaners the type of person who could never run a business, the type who can just about hit his dinner plate with a fork , they are not hard to find ,iv 3 right now

No it's not your staff represents your company. Establish Eatablish  then get someone to work with you and then think about a second van..
I am so clever that sometimes I don't understand a single word of what I am saying.
