The answer to your question would depend on which SLX pole you had and which CLX extension you were wanting to fit to it.

The other point is that whilst all of the sections are fully compatible, not all of the resulting combinations would we recommend for reasons of strength and perhaps having a badly balanced pole to work with.

SLX25 MK1 was sold in 2007-2008 This was then followed by a SLX30 model which sold during 2008/09 and then a full range was released in March 2009 this then included an SLX25 which was the same dimensions as the MK1 and was sold from March 2009 until May 2010 when it was replaced with a new lighter SLX25 which had the same smaller top section diameter as the rest of the range.

First you will need to decide which SLX you have. If you have any size apart from the 25ft (5 section) then the sizing of your sections will be completely standard. If you have an SLX25 (5 sections) then you need to assess which model you are using. If it has a top section diameter (can be assessed with a pair of adjustable spanners and a ruler) of 25mm then you have the MK1 which starts with the no.2 section. If the top section diameter is 22mm then you have one of the current sizing poles.
