The difference is one is modular and the other is telescopic .

The same type of high modulus carbon is used in both the extreme and the super lite modular .

The point  being I see very little difference in terms of how much they bend where as windie washer seems to think the extreme is very bendy .......its not its probably the best pole out there in my opinion.

So you still stand by the extreme 47 being the best?

This makes for a really interesting read, out of all the people who have seen Lee's post on Facebook about it seem to think that the Reach-It poles are the best?

I wouldn't pay too much attention to any of that!

You want to be looking at Gardiner Xtreme or Super-lite.

The SL is king at height but not by a million miles. However, it's also modular, less robust & not as usable everywhere else as the Xtreme so it really does depend on if you want this pole to use at lower heights too.

At that price you might as well she'll out the extra few quid for an extreme, then if any higher jobs come in you only need to buy extensions not a whole new pole.

Yup, I totally agree with that. With an Xtreme (or slx to a degree) you have a very versatile piece of equipment. Bring it right down or send it upto silly o' feet high  ;D

Just a point - this link is to our US distributors site and shows the US price. The UK website for the same thing is http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/SLX-II-Carbon-Pole--SLX_39.html

Haha! I knew you'd be watching this thread!

By the way I've contacted sales@gardiner email and I'm still waiting for a reply Alex, with regard to this thread,  get them to pull their finger out! 😋

That's quite a price jump Alex.
$to£ is 1.5:1 at the minute...

You also have to factor in the shipping charges and import duty which all adds up. Also they are still selling the older slightly more expensive model.

Did you email sales@gardinerpolesystems.co.uk ? If so you should get a reply - might be worth sending again or even emailing me direct.

ive had a SUPERMAX 40 and i now have  an extreme 47.the difference is unbelievable!the extreme is much stiffer and lighter in comparison to the supermax at full stretch.

id defo go for the extreme.your shoulders and arms will thank you for it at height!

all poles bend at height but the extreme has the least bend out of the two by a long way.

best wishes
