Re: Nee a new leisure battery 100 a/h £ 69.99 GOOD PRICE

Batteries below a certain price are a false economy.
Batteries contain lead and lead prices are at an all time high so to make a cheap
battery you need to use less lead which wont be any good in wfp cleaning. They wont last with high usage.
If you can cancel the order I would your just wasting money.
Sorry for being blunt about this.

I prefer just a normal car battery , never had any problems and they can take a higher charge rate than a leisure battery.
Mines on a split charger and never have to top it  up .

If you want some info on why you shouldn't  buy cheap batteries or use car starter batteries then
go to www.motorhomechannel.co.uk
click on videos.
In the video section click on feature stories and the watch leisure batteries part 2.

Fantastic channel only problem is the Fella does not tell you what is amiss. So that VDO does straight to the bin.

Point 1
When buying a new battery check the date and try and buy one from
a shop that has a good turnover in batteries.
In other words don't buy one that's been sitting on a shelf for a few years.
Point 2
Check the weight of the battery to see if your getting value for money example the battery listed above
weighs 20 kg a Halfords 100 ah weighs 30kg
For the price of the one above you can easily get a battery that weighs around 25kg that's 5kg more of material
such as lead.
Smithie sorry for highjacking your post just trying to be helpful.

My current battery has been used by me for around 18 months now £20 secondhand on ebay and still working like a dream .

Thats a battery that would of gone to the tip.

A car battery is fine .
