Only got wifi when I come to this beach bar so only just read your last thread. (Yes I know it's sad)
It's no wonder so many folk abandon this forum.  ::)roll
I stand by what I said. Apprentiships are a positive thing to do if you are running a small business and wish to expand but an extra wage is an issue.
I find 1 man in a van is profitable but a second does not double turnover. Therefore he either needs to be up to speed very quickly or his running costs need to be low to justify putting him in there to start with. It's a simple no brainier that even cozy can't argue with :-) ( no offence cozy please don't gang up on me next)
I wanted to help a local youngster and the govt are offering help in the form of an apprentiship. They have to call it something!
I don't kid myself this business is anything special but to a young lad who has no knowledge of the workplace it's a foothold and valuable experience for whatever he goes on to do later.
There was a post made about £3500 paid to me by the govt. that's incorrect. I believe the actual amount is around £1500 but only after 3 months employ but you won't get it till maybe after 6 months (its govt after all)
G.brookes, I don't want to start a new tirade of problems with this post so mods feel free to lock immediately but just to let you  know you are welcome to give me a call anytime after the 19th
For now I have just finished a cold one so off for a swim.

I did a similar thing to Neil a few years ago now, I have to agree with neils post. it did not work out for me, but I think I tried far to early and there was no way I could expand quick enough to do it right, I to be frank just did not have the funds nor the ambition to push it hard enough to work, that will change in the near future, so I will look forward to how you get on
