Can i get some start up advice?
« on: August 09, 2013, 08:03:57 pm »
Hi. In april i started a car valeting business. Ive been doing it part time and i want to go full time next year(ive decided next spring rather than start up approaching winter). Im having a bit of indecision with what i should do. Im trying to decide between carpet cleaning, car valeting or pressure washing. Ive thought about doing all 3.(I really dont fancy window cleaning btw). The business i have is very minimal invested, maybe 500 quid so im not bothered about rebranding or choosing another line of work.

So would i be better choosing one thing or doing a mix of things? Im thinking of doing all 3 things, i suppose im scared to put all my effort into valeting in case it doesnt pay off, im actually pretty nervous abot going self employed full stop.
And would anyone mind telling me what they think of my website www.thompsonprovaleting.co.uk
I really dont know what to do :-\ any advice on starting out in general?

another thing, if i wanted to start a carpet cleaning and car valeting business, would i be better marketting myself as a generic cleaner, or say signwrite my van up as a car valeter and do carpets on the side so to speak

I think the car cleaning and carpets go side by side quite nicely but the windows are good because you can just turn up anytime between the other work. Its a good over the immigrants to say you rinse off with pure water from the windows. I pressure wash, do carpets and a few windows - all along side the other things I do. I like to mix it up so I don't bore of the work
