Some advice needed please
« on: April 06, 2015, 07:39:14 pm »
My little one was sick on the carpet although i managed to clean it up using one of the domestic vax cleaners some rug doctor detergent and fairly hot water. i've noticed when its dried that there is still a strong smell from the area.
I would be grateful for any advice on any detergents/chems i could use to treat it  to get rid of the smell (preferably something off the shelf from a supermarket).
many thanks
paul

Sorry.... But with a post like that How is it that you are a "Clean it up God"? Thats almost Blasphemy... Talking like that in here lol
An Equivalent Example would be like going into a church & asking the Vicar the Best way to practice Devil Worship & Where would he recommend you buy a Suitable Ouija Board.... Hehehe  ;D ;D ;D

your window cleaner is it?
would you prefer your customers are using some cheap equipment from supermarket shelf or your service?

it will cost you no more then 50 pounds to hire most of pro carpet cleaners, just to extract it properly and use some deodoriser

Its not as easy as putting a detergent down. You need to make sure you fully flush out all the crap first, and I'm sorry but a vax or rug doctor just wont cut it fella. Hence the need for a professional with at least a three stage vac machine. Unless you want to spend £3.5K+ on a machine for this one job?

You'll also need to apply a sanitiser and/or enzyme treatment to completely kill the germs and bacteria that are causing the smell. These again are professional grade chemicals that you cant just "buy off the shelve".

A carpet cleaners minimum charge would probably cover you for a deep clean of the whole room or the stain and another small room (maybe), so its quite cheap really.

Or you could do a kim and aggie and try  your luck with throwing lemon juice and baking soda on it lol

Or you could just live with the smell or replace the carpet and underlay.
