Thanks for the advice everyone, pre sprayed at 16 to 1, agitated with a carpet brush (may get a brush for the buffer next time) and then extracted with hot water.

You could see the difference at once, the carpets were a big improvement. Only darker bits were on the main walkway areas, front entrance, up stairs adn in front of the security desk and two lifts. These didn't come out with the bonnet system (one step at 16 to 1) again. Should I have used a stronger mix?

Anyway, back on site this morning after 800+ people had trampled over it and it looked far better than with the Chemspec method we have used on many different occasions. Client is happy so I am too. The bosses visit is tomorrow morning so we'll give it another bonnet before he arrives. Should I do anything different with the dilution?

Hi,

I use One Step at 1: 8 (125 ml per litre of water) on heavily soiled carpets. This will release the soil and provide the results that you want.

Excessive agitation is not necessary but the use of either a rotary or cylindrical brush machine will speed up the process.  Brush north to south, east to west and then rinse with your extractor.

Hi Happyeater,

Yes, mist One Step on to the carpet with a pump up sprayer ideally fitted with an 8001 T-Jet nozzle then bonnet as normal.

Depending on soil levels and the type of bonnet pad your using, you should be able to cover between 10 to 20 metres of carpet per side.
