Hi

One of my black hoses has started leaving black marks. I've never noticed this being a problem before do they deteriate over time?

Also its left some black marks on some decking and a crazy paving driveway. I didn't notice until I had packed up and it was late, but I've got to go back to oil the decking. Has anyone got any tips for removing the black marks preferably without having to get the pressure washer out again especially on the wooden decking?

my hoses sometimes leave marks but you can easily wash them without pressure washer, just normal water hose

Happens a lot, once all washing is complete, start at the furthest point and wash in towards your pump, keep the hose in front of you.

Nightmare.

I have blue food industry quality hose that is supposed to be "non-marking"
This hose is just as bad as the black ones so don 't be tempted by them!!

cheers for the advice guys. yes the sunlight could well be a factor hadn't thought of that as its only recently been occuring. and yes i just bought a 30m blue one, arrived yesterday lol

Blue is worse for this and on top of the fact it sheds from day 1, when it does it also stands out more.

Goodyear Neptune 2000 psi steel braided grey is the hose to buy, buying pressure washer hose its only a cheap option

It's not the hose that leaves the marks it is the cuffs that are close to the ends. I have found the single braid red hoses are best.

i bought one of these http://www.washdownsupplies.co.uk/acatalog/Washdown_Supplies_Blue_High_Pressure_Hose_5.html and so far so good, but whether it will deterioate in time like the my black one onlh time will tell

Richie, it is def the hose too.

No big deal, but is a bit annoying, especially on larger jobs.
