How long can processed water be kept?
« on: February 27, 2006, 11:56:02 pm »
Having completed my WFP setup (I THINK)!! I need to ask how long can I keep my water once it has been processed through my RO system?

Many thanks, and I hope ill be joining the rest of u WFPers tomorrow, providing its not still raining!! ::)

By the way does it make a difference if the processed water is pressurised?

So long as the container your water is kept in is clean, sterile and sealed then it will keep indefinitely.
But why would you want to pressurize your container?????
Not that it would make any difference if it was pressurized.

HI Everyone,

Also make sure, the stored water is stored in a temperature below 20 degrees!! If you store the water in temperatures above that for a period longer than three days, you run the risk of Legionnaires disease developing within the water.

Many Thanks

Andrew

Hi,

If you're concerned about the possibility (now that summer's just around the corner) of legionella bacteria growing in warm stored water, take a look at our UV kit, which eliminates this risk.  Click on http://www.andwat.co.uk/acatalog/LEGIONELLA_STERILISATION.html
