I started a contract with a guy just over a month ago that started on a 1 months trial. He got a few days over the month and then tried to cancel. I explained his trial period had expired and now he is in a rolling monthly contract. He said he would get trading standards on me as apparently I was supposed to "ask his permission" to continue at the end of the first month.
It took me ages to find someone to clean the place as 3 cleaners walked out as it is a hellhole. Think 1970s sweat shop with bollywood movie on full blast. I then got a lovely girl to do it who has stuck there. She texted me last night to say the guy has offered her a raise to sack me and work for him direct.
I knew this guy had an ulterior motive from day 1 but could not work out what it was. The truth is he has got me to recruit and train a cleaner so he can poach her.
The cleaner has refused to leave my employ as she "cannot stand him"

Find another job for the cleaner & bin the client. :-))

I was on a quote yesterday and the lady was so hostile from the minute i got there, telling me the cleaning will be done in two hours no longer, including making beds and removing every single item off every surface for dusting. This was a house owned by her dad - 84, he had stuff everywhere, ornaments everywhere, pens, creams everything. Then she said its not exactly rocket science is it, and proceeded to remove stuff off the window sill to see how long it took.
I just said, fortunately for me I choose who I work for and I won't be working for you. Thanked her for her time and said she needed to be less angry for a happier life and left. It felt good!
