How do you use social media to promote your business?

Are you on Facebook, twitter, LinkedIn?

I attended a fb for business course last week, real eye opener to the world of social media. Learn't about 'social proof'.

Twitter, we post on #norfolkhour and do #ff, fb page is linked to twitter too.

My best social media tool at the moment, is http://paper.li/StrakerEco/1318339793

That comes out automatically each day, at my specified time, it then sends to subscribers, my Twitter page and that it turn, sends it to my FB business page  ;D  That hits all those followers without me doing a thing, even if I am ill or away in the Algarve ........ I digress  8)

I also use Four Square for 'signing in' at certain locations or areas ......... this aslo transmits to Twitter & FB business page ........ getting maximum exposure of minimal effort  ;)

Chris,
Sounds good.  Even though I don't understand it, how do you set that up, if you don't mind me asking?

If you live a high octane glamorous lifestyle like Chris does I can see people being interested in receiving automated messages on what he's doing and where he is, then to get it again on FB later. For the rest of us I can't help feeling customers would think who gives a fook.

Unfortunately I think some work is required and you need to give people something they might actually be interested in, and has something in it for them. Like offers from you and other services, useful information (links to blog), surveys, comps, local interest etc. All this takes time and effort.
It's not expensive, you just can't afford it.

Simon, there should be a button on the page, that lets you start your own paper ........ no need to subscribe to enhanced one until you feel you have it running right.
