Who holds the purse strings ???
« on: February 24, 2006, 04:41:46 pm »
I know each local authority will differ, byt does anyone know who hold the financial responsibility for local authority schools.

I have been building a database ready for my commercial marketing campaign next month and have not been given any sensible answers as to who gets to select the w/c for both Comprehensive and Primary schools.

Should I be writing to the local authority, the LEA or the schools themselves. ?

Who makes the decision as to who to use ?

Any advice would be appreciated and may be helpfull to other who I know are using formats of my Commercial Canvass Letter.

David,

Do the local local council pay you directly then ?

We have one really large Comp job outside our borough which we get paid for via their LC via BACS so hoped all other LC's were the same.

Can put them on my database by the sound of it.

Thanks,

Sarah

hi ya , i see youve already had a few reply,s.
I was told you have to first get on the approved list of LEA.
A couple of phone calls should get you the name and dept. address of person responsable for list.
Then once on the list you then have too approach schools individually.
I have one school that pay by check.
Any chance of a peek at your commercial canvass letter .

Thank you John,

That has been my experience too, albeit only the once.  have already done my letters direct to each school and will also do one to the LEA just for their records.
