exracting dynamall
« on: May 28, 2013, 12:48:42 pm »
hi, i,ve got a job tomorrow where custy wants me to give encap a try, the carpet is moderately dirty (just foot traffic). i was wondering if i could just extract the dynamall with warm water should the initial encap not come up to scratch, extracting an encap product seems to be defeating the object somewhat..thanks

why would you want to extract an encap product ? ok you stated incase it  doesnt come up to a standard!!

Have you used encap before ? surly your experience will tell you expected results.

My other thought is why does custy want you to try encap? have you sold this product to them ? if so defeating the object imho if you extract ?
ohh is it low profile commercial or other type carpet ?

thanks for the reply, i,m relatively new to carpet cleaning, i have encapped a couple of jobs with good results but they were only lightly soiled, its on a domestic , i haven,t tried to sell it but i cleaned her mums last week using encap and the results were good, they are both impressed with the quick drying aspect but i did tell her that encap may not be the best method, it says on the dynamall site that it can be used as an extraction chemical but it says to put it in the tank..

just do the same as you did with her mum's carpet. Make sure that you agitate it better for dirtier, and maybe put a bit more concentrated solution, down and a bit heavier..

Have faith in the process..... If you don't think the dynamall has worked properly spray some more down and bonnet off.....

Personaly ,i only ever encap low profile and commercial  carpets with great results, I have on a rare  times used on domestic with decent results.
Not some thing i really want to get  into if i am honest, if you really worried about drying times try bonnet " didnt think i would ever say that "   ::)roll  or place blowers on the carpet.

Hector,
sorry but got to disagree with your idea of putting down heavier, this i believe will not improve the performance, you do not want to over foam .

You are entitled to your opinion Geoff..... even if it is wrong  :P  ;D ;D

If you foam up, it will bonnet off, or dry encapsulated as it was designed to do.... it is good stuff, and will vacuum off..  ;D

You can extract with an Encap in tank/metered. This is what we do on very heavily soiled commercials. There are Encap products out there that can be in this way at 1:128 dilution.

We would run the wand over the traffic lane only to flush out the majority of the soil this is then left to dwell then hit it with a rotary and brush/pad/bonnet to remove the adhered soil.

We find this works exceptionally well on completely trashed stuff without wicking that we used to experience with normal rinse detergents that we would then bonnet off. We also have the advantage that the product is heated by the machine giving improved cleaning.

I know this isn't exactly what the OP is referring too but thought it may be a useful technique to others viewing the thread.

Indeed it will Hector  ;D  but the idea of encap is to leave a film of foam , not a mass . i,m not saying it is wrong :-\  just not the correct way. more foam does not improve the cleaning ability, going over the same area with out foaming does, infact on a paticular where a spill has occured and a chance of wick back occuring the ideal solution is to omit releasing solution onto that area, foam an area around it then go over with dry passes  ;)

Geoff.

Quick on re encap, if doing stairs, do you just spray and agitate.
Can you use a minitex with pad or brush

I found the minitex to be quite quick, and throw the solution over walls sometimes. I now use the Oreck.
