Altec Advance 1200psi...
« on: May 04, 2013, 07:51:46 pm »
Hello all,

I'm thinking of treating myself to an Altec Advance 1200psi, but they weight in at 72 kg! Huge weight for one person to shift around... anyone have any solution to this? I've heard of people leaving them in the van and operating the machine from there, but you might as well have a truck mount if this is the case.

Thanks,

Stu.

Will you use it exclusively for floor work?

Thinking of using it for both carpets and floors really. Expanding more into tile and stone cleaning.

Thanks.

you could buy a ramp. might make life easiere! certainly getting it in and out of your van ! I think Steve Gunn had one for his eclypse some yeasrs ago

think i would go for the storm or enforcer with built in heater myself

Thanks Steve. Are you referring to Ashby's enforcer? If so, their highest spec machine runs at 800psi and it's probably not powerful enought to put down enough pressure to run the sx-15 tile and grout tool. Not heard of the storm, but will have a look. Thanks for your advice.

Stu,
I do not think so that 1200psi will give much better results on very bad tiles, have no experience but its only 1200psi.
Seperate power pressure will give better results eg kranzle k7/120 with 1800psi, or even bigger one and expand yourself to powerwashing services.

The method I use at the moment involves scrubbing and then extracting using two separate machines.. The 1200psi machine gives you the option to extract at the same time as adding a little more cleaning power.

Cheers for the eBay tip. I'll go and have a look at that.

Been thinking for a while about getting into the pressure washing game, but not sure on equipment. I'll have a word with Andy foster. Anyone got his email address?

Thing I do not get about using a portable for tile and grout.

Do you not get through a lot of water

Has anyone tried hoking a Karcher to the water supply connecting to tools and then just use portable to suck water

pressure washer takes at least 7lt per minute and much more, so with porty you may have only 3-5 minutes work untill tank get full.
Best would be the Flood Hog connected to the surface cleaner and normal pressure washer with pressure regulator. This set would be great even for working outside when a lot of water in the working area is not good.

cant say i know hard floor high water pressure machines well but  ...

There is the Alltec advance heavy but quality im sure plus you can have and immersion heater added .
The Alltec Elite available with the 1200 pumptec too ...

The Mytee LTD 12  from woodbridge  is a hardfloor machine with 1000psi high flow triplex general pump + auto fill and auto pumpout ...

Or ..  this pump is compact and reasonably priced for what it is and could be used alongside a portable of your choice ..

Or ... the Mytee Escape ... 2000 psi    :D

The idea is to limit the need to carry more than one portable machine around. So, it might a little too much for me to have a separate pressure washing machine with an extraction portable. I like the option of limited setup time and less fuss.

The suggestion of a pump only device might be the way forward. Alltec also offer a pump only option for around £800, which I could attach to my existing portable.

The auto pump out and fill options seem like a godsend, with what seems like ages filling and emptying at the minute. I guess this is something I would need on a high pressure machine??

yes , cant help feeling that standalone 1200psi pumptec is overpriced at 800  , sold under various names ... water otter etc

The pump in the little ' boxjet '  looks like this inside ...

very similar to what mytee uses in the LTD12   ....    but with the option of bigger motors 1.5  - 2.5hp ... more flow

Haven't read through all posts but I have the 600 and weight-wise, it is heavy but I have lugged up to fourth floor (and anything below) on apartments as and when required. Don't get me wrong, I'd sooner not and work other ways if possible, but it can be done.

Easy to get on the van, just tilt back, push then when in position just lift. We have one van with a tow bar and we have foldaway ramps for one man loading / unloading.

Stu,

I am about to put up for sale my Woodbridge Mytee M12 1200 psi.

I bought it about 2 years ago to expand the services I could offer but the commercial carpet cleaning side of my business has now picked up again so no time for offering this service.

I must have used it on about 12 occasions, I also have a like new spinner, used only about 6 or 7 times.

Email me advancecleaning@live.co.uk and I can send you pictures.

Great machine, but not being used, I can also throw in ramps.
