That elbow is for another type of hose reel.

Gardiners sell a connection pack for the Claber hose reels they sell.

I don't have this hose reel so I can't help you from experience

are these clabber hose reels any good as ive seen a few reports of them bending the metal and being lighter than a pure freedom metal style reel dont they pull all over the place when winding in the hose?

Spruce, as usual, is spot on  :) Using these methods it is very simple to attach Microbore hose (6mm ID) to a Claber reel.

These reels are a step up from plastic garden hose reels, but are still a lot lighter and easier to reel than heavy steel reels. They will not stand up to hot water work and heavy duty use.

About 5 clients (and that's a number I can live with :) ) have had issues with side plates buckling (out of over 1000 units sold), but this usually has been either because of an over-pressuring system expanding tightly coiled hose, hot water use, or not regularly checking that the butterfly side nuts are done up tightly which allows the reel to twist in use.

i have to say i've been thinking about getting one myself as this bloody pure freedom reel is pretty darn heavy when lifting back in the van after a hard days work but i do love the solidness of the pure freedom!
