The side of the van, I think I just need to screw two pieces of 2x1 baton then fix hooks to them for a better fixing, although I thought I'd ask here first if anyone has any other solutions.

I have two pieces of timber across the roof of the van for my pole and a square tubes of steel running down each roof to floor with a steel hand rail half way up to fasten all and sundry to so nothing flies around.

Cheers, the trouble Im having is I have a new van and don't really want to drill into everything but ideally I need your roof cross sections for my pointer. Sometimes I wish I had an old van!
