Internal high level coloured leaded
« on: April 01, 2013, 08:43:04 pm »
Had a new clean, had to use a two man system, extended ladder, one footing, the other cleaning,
The windows were set in very deep frames.some were around 12 foot, one section nearly 16ft.The glass was all re leaded a few years ago, we'd had no leaks from WFP on the outsides
My question is , could we clean these leads using a pole and pad system, my concerns on possible shortcomings are....
Microfiber pad may not get in all nooks and crannies....Anything thicker we could use?
And, could we adapt the vikan head to be used with a gooseneck ,even if the head was fixed this would help.

Any help be appreciated.

i had a internal church clean - all leaded and some 25 + ft up ( small one's each side of the isle )

very, very dirty and stained i used the unger flexi grip clamp with a large wet sponge - this was soft enough to clean without any heavy pressure - then used damp sponge to mop up and finally micro cloth to dab dry
( and before using wet sponge i dusted off with a brush to remove loose webs etc..)

i cant vouch that that were perfectly clear but looked superb from ground level !  8)

took around an hour to do 12 ( set back a good 18 inches  )

Many thanks for that info,

I was thinking of that bit of kit, we are lucky these are just dusty, but to extend ladder in a lounge is not something I want to do, especially with all the chandeliers about!
We've done it that way for our first clean, but moving forward, want to avoid ladders, there is so much valuable stuff in this property that your kinda on edge all the time when using or moving a ladder!

Thanks again.
