Gardiner Backpack Battery
« on: March 08, 2013, 10:14:17 pm »
Can anyone tell me if there is a way to charge a Gardiner backpack battery, away from the backpack itself? Ideally with the supplied charger?
I could do with the ability to charge a spare battery whilst the backpack is in use.

You will probably be better off buying another charger (we got ours from maplins) fit it with crocodile clips and charge spare battery.

We only use backpacks, two on the van and carry two spare batteries. Not often needed but if really busy day may need to change one.

With the Gardiner Back pack you will need to fit spade clips to the wires that connect the battery as the wires are soldered to the battery, making it impossible to change unless you cut wires.

Good luck

If you drop me an email on alex@agardiner.co.uk I could probably make you up a little plug-in adapter so that you can use your standard charger, although the Maplin type chargers also work well.

Although the wires are soldered on to the terminal of the battery, there is no need to cut the wires as if you follow the wires along about 7cm on there is a quick connect plug that allows to you to switch batteries quickly and easily. All you need is one of our spare batteries with this plug soldered on.
