Looking for advise on what products are best for car valeting.  Also any recommended suppliers.

Obviously heres no training course for valeting so i assume its just self taught?
Any advise appreciated.

There are training courses and there are car valeting forums where you'll get a better reply.

Hi steven, I have been doing car valeting for years also carpet cleaning. You will need a wheel cleaning chem, acid is good if really dirty or a non acid one, TFR, a wash and wax for general washing if they don't want it polished. At least one wax polish with a cut in it (used car polish.) A hard surface cleaner for interior trims, a degreaser for removing gum and stickers, glass cleaner, tyre dressing, a spray sheen is useful for putting a shine on trim. Obviously a pressure washer (cold) I use a Kranzle, found them really good and long lasting, a hot water extraction machine for seats and carpets. That will do to start you off.
Autoglym stuff is good and recognised by the public if a little expensive. You are sure to find a local chemical supplier, you will soon learn what is good and what not. Best of luck.

Thanks for that. How much do you think it would cost to get going?

i was a car valeter for 3 years, built it up from zero income.

key is to get it right first time - buy good quality tools & chemicals (honda generators/power washers) autosmart chemicals and a tidy van.

i spent about £6500 setting up & that was it done with bargain hunting etc.

it can be done for less - but remember there are loads of valeters charging like £12.00 for a valet so if you try and charge more you need to have a reason for it - a clean van and good tools are a start.
