powered formula 90
« on: February 15, 2013, 12:12:35 pm »
This morning I filled up my smaller tub of spm that I carry on the van from the large tub in the warehouse and forgot to put it in the van ???. I turned up on a filthy eot clean and realised I had left it. I used some formula 90 as prespray and it cleaned up amazing. Was just wondering if anyone else used formula 90 in the same way?

Formula 90 powder can be used as a pre-spray or tank detergent. As it is an encapsulator it leaves no residues. There are even people using it for bonneting and in Roto Wash machines.

I use it for pre spraying dilution ratio I guess 2 scoops to 10 litres of warm water mix until dispersed there no exact measurement.

thats why I buy 100kg of the stuff a year.

2 scoops for pre-spray and 1 scoop in tank. Great as upholstery pre-spray.

What is it's result if used directly in a portable machine with hot water do you still require an acid rinse afterwards.

Nope, like John said it is an encapsulator so leaves no residues behind. Chemspec dont tend to make poor products.

The liquid and powder are completely different although they share the same name.

The same is true for one clean green, one clean liquid and powdered one clean.

All different.

Labels is the only thing Chemspec aren't good at!

Not sure if there is anything Encapsulating about it  ?

Looks like good ol detergent  to me  , much like Ultimate Master  etc  .

Not much to SPM so most things are likely to outclean it  ... when it matters ...

Don't think it contains any polymers like a modern encap product and those found in their rotobrite 2, kill odor plus or liquid high heat.

John I thought you mentioned that spm and ultimate master were micro splitting technology?

If it is the same powdered F90 that's been around since the year dot, it was one of the few detergents that was buffered Ph. Great product, I don't believe it works as well at high temps.

Shaun

I think the point i was trying to make was more about the definition of a microsplitter  ...   :)

Originally Microsplitter was just STPP on its own ...

SPM is soda ash and an oxidizer   ....     but it referred to a microsplitter

So anything containing phosphates could be called a microspliter if the definition is that loose
Ultimate master has soda ash , STPP  .... +  surfactant , builder , inhibitors , perfume  etc
