QUOTE HELP! Anyone..........
« on: February 02, 2013, 12:24:38 pm »

Hopefully the images show this time. How much per window done traditonally? How much WFP?

Time taken to clean the window both Trad and WF?

No idea any help would be more than greatly appreciated.

Im quoting it today, later on so ill let you know how the prices fair and how i get on.

Regards , George

The windows, as its hard to tell are roughly 10FT tall and 5-6 wide.

Each pane is roughly the size of a A4 piece of paper.

The groundskeeper/maintance man is my godfather and he came to me first so makes the quote even more pressured!! More the reason im trying to work it out per window to give an exact quote, or maybe a day rate would be better  ??? arhhh im stuck - i just know he earns £90 per day so cant go ok ill come a day rate for £150-200, he'll think im taking the p!

George,

Forget what he gets paid, thats nothing to do with you or the price to charge.

Hi Window Washers - yes true your right. Time wise id say 10 mins for the rectangle windows and 12 for the curve shaped topped ones in the other picture. Obvs quicker Water Fed but he whats Trad really.

I would do what is safe for you and I would not say thats Trad, I would explain that to him aswell, there will not be much difference in time trad and wfp on first clean after obvious wfp wpould be far quicker (unless them frames milk like a pregnant cow).

how many windows are there in total and how long do you think this job will take you to complete ?
or was it 22mins in total ?
how often do they want it done ?

window washers - yeah i have had a long chat with him about ladders over WF etc and so it maybe the top half of the windows are done water fed and the bottom half trad?? however like you said the frames are the unknown quantity?! 3 times a year muckka. More for the first clean, then regular price??

Ian - ok yes that was optimistic! Is more like 15 reasonable, 20??

I have this syndrome where i always think i can work faster than i can so i can quote lower, so i feel better about giving people a price! i dont know why i do it, suppose i dont want him to turn around and say HOW MUCH??  :o :o

My biggest job to date, so just want to do all window cleaners proud! Cue national anthem :P

if you think its going to take you 20  mins, i will probably take you 40 mins (what do you charge per hour, I dont want to know, just calculate that) then next time round you will be quicker.

I would remove the half trad half wfp part there is no need to trad that at all,  if they want trad half charge them 50% more as it takes more time, im sure they will go with the wfp option being cheaper and safer   ;)

I think per window 15-20 mins per window is sufficient. I mean he was pretty pushy for Trad so ill give the man what he wants and see what comes out. I reckon he will go for the water fed quote as like you say its cheaper, faster and safer.

OK heres the plan quote at doing 3-4 windows per hour. Work out how many hours then price accordingly.

That was obviously the plan in the first place i just had no idea how long really price wise per hour i have an idea.

Ill let everyone know how it goes.
