Does anyone know what is required for and the procedure for hose crimping. You know the type for hydraulic fittings and pressure washer hose fittings

its just faulty section of the hose where it gets more usage then the rest. when there cis a weakness its best to replace or splice area

I just use a pair of pincers, for example that a joiner might use.

They sell purpose built ones for crimping in the store that sells the crimps.

Just nip one side up lightly and then the other, try not to overdo it as it only needs to nip it.

Down side is the crimps tend to catch on anything and everything when in use.

for normal reel hose the i just splice with a plumbers copper tubing

How about going to a local hose doctor (Hyphose??) type place? I'm sure they will do a few connections for you....

Alex. You will need the crimp as per your picture, an insert for the pipe and a special machine. A few hundred quid at least for a battery powered one. I think there are hand powered ones out there but they will be for a special size and type of pipe specific to its task. Pirtek is a company who do this sort of thing. They will have interchangeable parts for their machine for different sizes of tube.

These kind of connections require a proper crimping machine. Like the last poster, they ain't cheap, especially when you wouldn't need it regularly (maybe?).
You're best finding an hydraulic pipe /hose suppliers locally who will readily sort you out, but not for mega-bucks.

Hmmm, that was the advice I wanted. I did suspect that it was an expensive machine,

I will goto pirteck hydroquip etc and see what they can offer.

Looking to get a new system in March, and I want a leak free system that can take the strain of 60-70deg water out of the boiler and the added pressure that goes with it.
My biggest problem is attaching the hose to the reel, I think this will solve that problem
