Depends on your set up. We have a contract with our cleaners and another with our customers. Our cleaners are self employed so we can't have an enforceable clause in their contract saying they can't pinch clients. However we have a clause in our contract with the customers stating that if they approach a cleaner provided by us to work directly for them then they are liable for a one off introduction fee of £750.

Luckily not had to try and enforce it yet but then again we are still a very small company.

You can make them sign a contract with a non solicitation clause in it (both client and staff) although in my experience its barely worth the paper its written on when push comes to shove. Take a longer view what goes around comes around.

same.

we make the threat by making both sides sign, but there is no stopping it happening and little that you can do to prevent it.

all you can do is let them go, and get some more customers.

Be that good at running your business that the staff won't want to leave and the client won't want anyone else....keeping customers is about YOU not the competition
